FLORIDA ECONOMIC INDUSTRIES AND JOBS

Approximately 87.3 million people visited Florida in 2011 (a record) making the Sunshine state the top travel destination in the world. The Tourism Industry has an economic impact of $67 billion on Florida’s economy.

Forty percent of all U.S. exports to Latin and South America pass through Florida.

The Space Industry represents $4.1 billion of Florida’s economy.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported that over the past five years, 1,596,296 Floridians selected or were automatically re-enrolled in quality, affordable health insurance coverage through health insurance marketplaces under the Affordable Care Act. Florida employers creating jobs need healthy workers in these economic industries.

Reginald would support laws in the Senate that promote the health of Florida workers and laws that protect Florida’s Tourism, Export and Space Industries.
